The problem

Military members and federal employees were piecing together their compensation from scattered PDFs, forum threads, and Excel workbooks passed between coworkers — BAH tables from one source, GS locality pay from another, PCS cost-of-living modeling from nowhere at all.

Nothing online let them plug in real inputs (rank, ZIP, dependents, orders) and see net pay side-by-side across scenarios. The official calculators existed, but they were hard to find, clunky to use, and never updated together in one place.

The solution

IsMyJobWorthIt pulls official DoD and OPM rate tables into a single, fast web app. Enter rank, location, and dependents and you see BAH, base pay, GS locality — and their after-tax combined value — in one view. No login, no account.

The PCS comparison tool is the flagship: plug in two sets of orders (current station vs. prospective station) and get a clean side-by-side of net pay after housing costs — the single biggest question service members face when orders drop.

Key features

BAH calculator with current DoD rate tables by ZIP
GS pay table lookup with locality adjustments
CRSC calculator for retired service members
PCS comparison tool — orders A vs. orders B, net pay after housing
Military retirement and TSP calculators
Fast, no-login interface — results in seconds
